Based on the chart I’ve raised below, I think there will be peace (of a sort) in Ukraine in 2027. Certainly the chances are higher than they have been in a long time.
Ukraine is Mars in Leo. The war god in Leo is not great, but not bad. That matches Ukraine’s military situation: they have their tails up even though realistically they are running at their limits and won’t be able to flex their strength any more than they currently are.
Russia in this chart is Venus, with a difficult placement in Scorpio in the 12H. Basically that shows how Russia is being affected by this conflict (12H = House of Self-Undoing). If it is not losing (due to its superior size and resources) it is certainly not winning as Ukraine hammers its oil refineries and distribution centres. The chart tells me with Venus in Scorpio Russia actually feels (whether this is objectively true or not) like Ukraine has the power. Russia / Venus in the 12H speaks to secret entreaties for peace – maybe to Ukraine, the USA or another potential mediator. They want this done now.
Most importantly, in this chart there is an aspect connecting Russia and Ukraine. The aspect – a Square – is challenging, so it won’t be an easy negotiation and both sides will end up feeling far from satisfied. But a connection is a connection! So I see a ceasefire and a peace coming in 2027. Because the connection is a Square, I’m not sure how long-lasting a peace will be i.e. it might not last for many years.
Timing: always hard, but Mars and Venus (Retrograding) Square when both are at 7 degrees, so there could be an announcement about peace talks in mid-February 2027 (7 weeks into the year) or in April 2027 (7 months from when the chart was raised).
