Sometimes you can reach a point in life where, on paper, everything seems fine. And yet something doesn’t quite fit.
You might find yourself wondering:
Is this really what I want?
Why don’t I feel happier?
What’s wrong with me?
It may be that the life you’ve built no longer fits who you’re becoming.
The ambitions, relationships and choices that made sense ten or twenty years ago may no longer feel meaningful. You may have changed without fully noticing it.
You might find yourself thinking:
“I should be grateful. Other people have much bigger problems.”
But gratitude doesn’t necessarily resolve a sense that something is missing.
Finding out what is underneath the feeling
People come to see me to step back from the demands of everyday life and find time to ask important questions:
What has changed?
What are you no longer willing to accept?
What do you actually want from the next part of your life?
Most importantly: who are you becoming?
The trick is to make space for that bigger version of you.
My approach is based on Psychosynthesis, which looks beyond simply managing symptoms to explore the deeper patterns, motivations and changes taking place in a person’s life.
The aim isn’t to tell you what you should do. It’s to help you understand yourself more clearly, so that whatever you decide to do next is genuinely your own.
If you’re at a point where your life looks fine from the outside but no longer feels quite right from the inside, I’d be happy to talk with you.
I offer therapy at the Haslemere Clinic in Surrey and via Zoom, with a free introductory conversation available. You can contact me at: jamie@jamiercarroll.com or 07713 593366.
